The Newly Wed Mr & Mrs Burton
Roger and I got married at The Venue at Kersey Mill on 19th September 2015 and our day was everything we could have ever hoped and wished for.
When we started looking at venues we had a clear idea of what we wanted – something with character, romance and class, but without being too OTT or grand, as that doesn’t really fit our personalities.
When we arrived at The Venue we just knew straight away it was the venue for us – it is beautiful! So, after falling in love with the building, the Kiln Room, the layout, the grounds we just hoped we could do everything that we wanted there…and we certainly could.
We met Becky, who is so calm, helpful, friendly and completely serene. Our concerns about having a meal that wasn’t too formal, ensuring we could offer our guests a certain amount of paid-for drinks, our decorative styles etc. – every detail – she assured us we would make work and it would all be perfect. I am a bit of a ‘list-maker’ and a rather obsessive organiser, but Becky was brilliant with this – any time I had a question or a worry, she would answer straight away and totally reassure me. I felt completely at ease throughout the planning process, knowing that The Venue had everything under control. Working with Becky and Jamie we decided on a sit-down BBQ as a meal and the food was absolutely delicious! We had a tasting session before the wedding and we couldn’t wait to share this tasty food with all our guests. On the lead up to the big day we had a planning meeting with Becky to run-through everything and it made me feel so calm about it all.
On the day, every little detail was just perfect. The room looked stunning, we had gorgeous photos taken in the grounds and when Roger and I got to the drinks Reception, Becky was waiting with two personalised glasses (a lovely surprise gift from The Venue) of bubbles. All the staff made sure everything ran to time, the food was served to all our guests and the glasses were kept topped up with wine and bubbles! All the waiting staff were so friendly and helpful to all our guests.
Roger and I have received so many messages saying how well fed and watered they were – a couple even saying they have never had such wonderful food at a wedding before – and how stunning they thought The Venue was.
The Venue at Kersey Mill is a truly special place to celebrate your wedding and Roger and I are so happy that we chose it as our venue. We had the best day ever, the perfect start to married life! A huge, giant, massive thank you to Becky, Jamie and all the wonderful team at The Venue.
